The Minuet was originally designed and developed to enable one design class racing to take place on small areas of water not suitable for conventional craft.
A major advantage with the Minuet is its ease of transportation, the overall length being 2.2 meters, allowing it to easily fit into an average estate car and with the hull weight of less than 30 Kg (similar to a mountain bike) it can be lifted onto a roof rack of a saloon car with ease.

An integral keel case from deck to hull bottom allows the 6 Kg ballasted keel to be easily fitted or removed for transportation. The kick up rudder is also easily removed . The deck stepped mast is supported by fore-stay and two shrouds. The Minuet has been designed so that all controls fall easily to hand for the seated helmsman. Steering is by means of a vertical joystick. Halyards are internal to the mast and made fast to cleats on the keel case, all sheets are easily handled from inside the boat. The Minuet is conventionally constructed with GRP hull, deck, seat and keel (the hull has built in buoyancy). Mast, boom and rudder are anodised aluminium, with stainless steel rigging and fittings ensuring long life with minimum maintenance.

From the outset the Minuet has been designed for one design racing so no variation to the design or equipment is permitted under the class rules. A sail suit comprising of an overlapping jib and fully battened mainsail with one reef point is supplied as standard and made for Minuet yachts by Relling one design. The semi recumbent seating position keeps the helmsman in place when the boat is heeled, under static test with a 50 Kg helmsman the Minuet displayed positive righting moment at 90 degrees of heel. The Minuet is a miniature keel boat, well balanced close winded and a joy to sail. The Minuet is fully equipped and ready to sail in one of five different colours:- Red hull with white water line Turquoise hull with white water line Golden Yellow hull with dark blue water line White hull with red water line Dark blue hull with white water line.
